Some common sexual problems encountered are erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. These are a major source of worry for people suffering from these kinds of problems. In the short run, they have a huge impact on the confidence level of the person and affect his performance in bed and in the long run can leave him impotent due to psychological reasons.

Kegel’s exercises come to the rescue of such people. So, what exactly are these Kegel’s exercises?

These exercises are named after the physician Dr. Arnold Kegel who popularized them. These were developed by the Chinese in ancient times. With these exercises, the pubococcygeus muscle groups are strengthened and help in improving the erections and ability to stay longer during sex. By developing good strength of this muscle group, even problems such as incontinence and prostate problems during the old age can be reduced.

So, how exactly are these exercises performed?

Kegel’s exercises are performed by clenching and loosening the hold on the pubococcygeus muscles thereby strengthening it.

The identification of this muscle group can be done by any individual by trying to stop urination midway. The muscle group that helps you do this is the pubococcygeus muscle group which needs to be concentrated on.

But, the exercise should not be performed by regularly clenching during urination as this can lead to urinary tract infections. Once the proper muscle group is identified, it can be again clarified by trying out clenching when the penis is erect. You can visualize the movement of your penis while you do so. If you can see this, then you are doing it right.

The exercise is then done regularly with the penis in the flaccid state by clenching and loosening your hold on the muscle group. This helps in improving the strength of the PC muscle group that is located in the area between your scrotum and the anus. This exercise can be done in women also to see an improvement in the tightness of their vagina and thereby better sensations for both of you during sex.

By regular performance of these exercises, one can get good control over premature ejaculation as this muscle group not only helps in controlling the urine outflow but also helps in the ejaculation process. But, it should be remembered that although some results will be seen in a few days it actually takes many months to see proper results and one should not get dejected if they do not see any short term results.
